‘Syed Mohidul Islam Sharan Utsab 2021" to commence from November 5

To commemorate the legacy of playwright, actor, and director Syed Mohidul Islam, a festival titled Syed "Mohidul Islam Sharan Utsab 2021", will commence from November 5-12 at National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).  The event is organised by Batikrom Nattyagoshthi.

On the occasion of his 19th death anniversary, discussions and various cultural activities, including musical performances, dance recitals, and theatrical plays will be organised from 6-9 pm at the festival.

The festival will begin with the staging of Theatre Art Unit's theatre production Court Martial at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at 6:00 pm.

Batikrom Nattya Gosty will stage theatre production Pakhi on November 7. Besides, the festival will feature Natyachakra's play "Eka Ek Nari" on November 6, Sanglap Group Theatre's "Bodh" on November 8, Shabda Natyacharcha Kendra's: "Champabati" on November 9, Nandimukh's "Tabuo Manush" on November 10, Prangonemor's "Condemn Cell" on November 11 and Lok Natyadal's "Sonai Madhab" on November 12 at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Batikrom Nattya Gosty will honour renowned theatre personality Tariq Anam Khan with Syed Mohidul Islam Padak.

Theatre activists Alok Basu, Selim Mahbub, Sahadat Hossain Nipu, Tanvin Sweety, and Ahmed Gias with Manchabandhu Award.

The Jugol (duo) awards will be given to couples Munir Helal and Sabira Sultana Bina, Omar Sani and Moushumi, Mohammad Jasim Uddin and Enamtara Saki and Bakar Bakul and Runa Kanchan.
