Batikrom Natya Goshthi to organize Syed Mohidul Islam Memorial Festival from Nov 5

 

In memory of late playwright, actor, and director Syed Mohidul Islam, theatre group Batikrom Natya Goshthi will hold the 15th Syed Mohidul Islam Memorial Festival from November 5.

The week-long festival, commemorating the 19th death anniversary of Islam, will take place at the National Theatre Hall and Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Dhaka, according to a press release.

This year’s festival marks the 45th founding anniversary of Batikrom Natya Goshthi. Besides them, seven more groups will also take part in the event.

Tariq Anam Khan, one of the most prominent drama personalities, will receive the Syed Mohidul Islam Padak.

The Mancha Bandhu Awards will be bestowed upon several theatre actors writers and performers, including Alok Bashu, Selim Mahbub, Shahadat Hossain Nipu, Tanvir Sweety, and Ahmed Gias.

Jugol Awards will be given to couples Munir Helal and Sabira Sultana Bina, actors Moushumi and Omar Sani, Mohammad Jasim Uddin and Enamtara Saki.

In addition to that, several theatre productions are scheduled for November 5-12 during the festival at Shilpakala Academy.
